Supporting Veterans During the Holiday Season
It’s the holiday season, and Veterans Support Organization (VSO) is proud to support our veterans, especially at this time of year.
Our latest donations include providing 50 hygiene kits, which cost $150, to needy veterans.
We also donated $250 to Belinda "Dallas" Banschbach, owner of Bayshore Diner in Port St. Lucie, which is considered a home away from home for dozens of veterans in the area. In addition, Dallas has a program that feeds the homeless on the streets and in the woods.
Dallas, who has had several family members and an ex-husband serving in the military, recently told TCPalm newspaper that she understands the sacrifices of veterans, and worries about the ones who live in the woods all over her city.
"They fought and died for their country, so we should give back," she said to the newspaper.
Added Richard Van Houten, founder and CEO of VSO: “We fully support the work Dallas is doing in the community for veterans. VSO and Dallas have a similar mission: we both want to give back to our veterans for all they have done for us.”
