Flag Day Symbolizes Sacrifices of Veterans
Today is Flag Day.
For all of us who love our nation, it’s a day to celebrate the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on this day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day.
The U.S. Army also celebrates its birthday on June 14.
To me, our flag represents all that is great about our nation, especially our veterans. We need to celebrate our veterans on Flag Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and other holidays.
I hope you take a moment to reflect on our flag and all that it symbolizes.
