VSO WORK PROGRAM

VSO Street CollectionsPUTTING VETERANS TO WORK!

The Veterans Support Organization work program is one of the flagship community-based programs of the VSO. The jobless veterans we help find new purpose by helping other veterans!

The VSO Work Program was one of the original community-based programs of the VSO. Homeless and jobless veterans solicit donations from people like you, which then are used to help pay for the variety of other services of the VSO, from our housing programs to the food bank, community outreach and advocacy, and even VSO donations to other Veterans Organizations, including the Veterans Administration.

What makes this program unique is that participating veterans are helping themselves while helping others. They each get a personal financial stake in the funds they raise, and this incentive helps them to work harder to help other veterans.

A BETTER SUPPORT NETWORK FOR VETERANS

VSO Gives Money to the VAThe VSO Work program brings veterans into contact with each other, helping establish a support network among the individual veterans we serve. But the VSO Work Program does more than that!

By offering our veterans an incentive, they actually raise funds that help other veterans organizations. VSO support of fellow agencies that serve veterans is renowned across the Eastern United States.

Richard Van Houten, our founder and president, is proud to have donated tens of thousands of VSO dollars to VA hospitals, food banks, and community-based veterans groups from Texas to Florida to New England!
