WHAT DO WE DO?

VSO is composed of a band of veterans and non-veterans whose focus is to support needy United States veterans in the local areas we serve, from Florida to New York.

Veterans Support Organization was founded in 2001 by Richard Van Houten, the current president of our board of directors. VSO is a IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization.

Donations that are collected provide funding for veterans’ delinquent utility bills, rents or mortgages; and these donations also provide housing assistance for homeless veterans. VSO also provides monetary assistance to the local VA hospitals’ Volunteer Services Departments, for the support of various programs offered to veterans.

VSO offers a work program for veterans and non-veterans striving to improve their own personal financial status while also helping the needy veterans of the community.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE ... ONE DONATION AT A TIME!

Our goal is simple ... to help our needy Veterans one donation at a time. Who are we? We are the Veterans Support Organization, a group of dedicated veterans and volunteers who have teamed up to accomplish one goal…to help our needy, disabled and homeless Veterans.

As many of you already know, we spend many long, hot days in the sun raising funds by securing a road side intersection also known as a road brigade. In doing this, we work hand in hand with the generous and patient patrons of the communties we serve, from South Florida to the New York City metro area.

This is one way we support our veterans, and we thank the public for your support! Many residents of South Florida may see our team raising funds at Walmart and Publix stores. We would like to thank all of the shoppers whom we have met and so generously donated to our Veterans.

Our many thanks go out to the store managers for allowing us to stand guard outside their stores on behalf of all needy Veterans. We look forward to many years of working together for the betterment of our Veterans!

Of course we must include our thanks to those of you who have taken the time to mail your donations, making a difference for ALL VETERANS! We thank you so much!

On these long days of fund raising it is a blessing to be able to come together as a team to reach our ultimate goal with the help from so many who care so much about our Veterans. With all of your help, we can now see promising times ahead for our Veterans … One Donation At A Time!
